About me

A writer since childhood, Nenia Tavrou has been seriously writing poetry, fiction and non-fiction as an adult for 30 years and has been a member of The Society of Women Writers since about 2002. Her books include: A Humorous look at living with Epilepsy, Magical Moments of an adventurous life, (a collection of stories and poems inspired by her real life experiences). Her earlier books were two poetry books, Bottled tears and Scarred by life, repaired through love, and a devotional, A moment with God. Her work has also appeared in The Society of Women Writers Victoria anthology, ‘Climb the Mountain’, 2006.

Nenia has done extensive study in humanities, psychology, counselling and theology and loves travel and experiencing other cultures. This background is evident in her stories and poems.
Nenia is married and though she and her husband, Neil have no children of their own, they have fostered children for fourteen years. Their strong Christian faith has taken one, other or both of them on a total of eleven mission trips to Africa, Israel, Europe India and Asia. Someone once said each of us has a book in us.

FAWVic member Nenia Tavrou proves this and more. An ‘ordinary person’, she has a big heart and a great sense of adventure and is always looking for challenging things to do.’ Typically, she sets herself a goal, often with a strong religious motivation behind it, and goes out and achieves it.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination

Build bridges, not walls

In the end people don’t remember what you did, they remember how you made them feel.

If you don’t feel challenged, it’s unlikely you’ll be changed.

Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today – James Dean

If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.

Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony – Mahatma Ghandi
